Red Light Therapy Benefits: From Skin to Hair
By the Beautano team · Sunbed & red light specialists, Nitshill
Red light therapy gets talked about for just about everything these days. So what does it actually do? Here is the honest version, from skin to hair.
First, what it is
Red light therapy is thousands of UV-free red-light LEDs. No tanning rays, no real heat, just a warm red glow you lie back in. It is the wellness side of a tan, and because there is no UV, it suits sensitive skin too.
For your skin
This is what red light is best known for, and what most people come in for. Used regularly it leaves skin looking brighter and fresher, and plenty of people say their skin feels smoother and more comfortable afterwards. It is a gentle thing to build into your week, on its own or alongside your tan.
For your scalp and hair
Here is where we will be straight with you. Red light, sometimes called low-level light therapy, is studied and used for the scalp and hair in the wider world, usually with dedicated devices built just for that job. It is a genuine area of interest and worth knowing about.
What we will not do is pretend a full-body sunbed is a hair-loss treatment. Beautano’s red light is a skin-first, full-body experience on the megaSun K11. If your hair is the main goal, a purpose-built device is the honest answer, and we would rather tell you that than sell you minutes you do not need.
What a session is like here
On the megaSun K11 Air Select, the only one in Glasgow, red light is genuinely spa-like:
- A dedicated, full-body UV-free red-light mode
- Climate-controlled comfort with cooling AirBreeze
- 3D sound and dream-destination ambience
- Around 15 minutes, fully supervised
The honest takeaway
Red light is a lovely, low-effort way to look after your skin, with none of the UV. Come and try it for what it genuinely does, and we will always tell you straight what it will and will not do.
